this scene is always heartbreaking to watch. and not even because of elio who said that he came because he wanted to be with oliver. we all know that only a few hours ago he didn’t even know about his feelings about oliver. it’s heartbreaking to watch how oliver asks ‘do you know how happy i am that we slept together’ and elio is just lost. and oliver knows that elio really doesn’t know how deep are oliver’s feelings and it was like that almost from the beginning, then they just met

this little moment tells so many things. we know that they both were nervous. you can tell that neither of them didn’t know what exactly to do, they were so vulnerable, so fragile. when elio put his foot on oliver’s, oliver was a little bit confused at first, it made him giggle and he asked ‘what are you doing?’ elio didn’t say anything expect ‘nothing’ but oliver already knew the answer. he put his foot on top of elio’s who gasped a little and oliver asked ‘does it makes you happy?’. oliver saw how nervous elio still is and what did he do? he teased him. he teased him like they teased each other so many times before. because he knew that elio likes to teases back and it will help to settle him down
